The European Union’s SECCA Project (hereinafter – SECCA) values its relationships with you as a member of the public and is committed to the protection of your personal information. This privacy notice will inform you as to how we look after your personal data when you visit our website (regardless of where you visit it from) and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
This privacy notice aims to give you information on how SECCA collects and processes your personal data through your use of this website, including any data you may provide through this website.

Who We Are
The SECCA project is funded by the European Union and implemented by a consortium led by SECCA sa/nv with Intec-GOPA International Energy Consultants, ACTED, and the Florence School of Regulation (FSR) – Energy, as consortium partners. This privacy notice is issued on behalf of SECCA, so when we mention ”SECCA”, “we”, “us” or “our” in this privacy notice, we are referring to the Project and relevant company in the implementing consortium.
In accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) we have appointed a data protection officer (DPO), who is responsible for overseeing questions in relation to this privacy notice.
Types of Personal Data we collect
In order to fulfil the purposes set out above, we may collect the following types of personal information through this website:

- Marketing and Communications preferences

Automatic Information Collection
When you visit the site, we automatically collect information, including the Internet Protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions and operating system and platform. In addition, we receive and store certain types of usage information whenever you interact with our site, including what pages you visit, frequency of visits and activities you perform on our site. We receive and record traffic data using Google Analytics including your IP address, SECCA cookies and the page you requested. Information about General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
We may be collecting and using information from you if you are from the European Economic Area (EEA), and in this section of our Privacy Policy we are going to explain exactly how and why is this data collected, and how we maintain this data under protection from being replicated or used in the wrong way.
What is GDPR?

Why is GDPR important?

It also raises the stakes for compliance by increasing enforcement and imposing greater fines for breach. Beyond these facts it’s simply the right thing to do. At SECCA we strongly believe that your data privacy is very important and we already have solid security and privacy practices in place that go beyond the requirements of this new regulation.
Handling Complaints
If you feel that SECCA is not complying with its Privacy policy or with private sector privacy laws, you may lodge a complaint with us and we will appoint someone in authority to investigate the complaint. If the complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may make a written request to the appropriate national, provincial, state or federal privacy or data protection officials or regulator asking them to investigate the complaint.
