The winners of the EU contests, as well as representatives of the most energy efficient schools from the Central Asian countries learned about the Latvian experience and best practices in energy efficiency promotion.

At the invitation of the European Union, the Central Asian delegation visited Georgia for a study tour to examine the country’s successful energy sector reforms, aligned with EU policies and Energy Community standards.

The Conference was organised jointly by the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan and the European Union in the context of the EU Green Diplomacy Week and EU-Tajikistan Sustainable Energy Days. It gathered national stakeholders, energy policymakers and professionals, representatives of academia and civil society, international organisations, and IFIs.

The participants explored the role, main elements and quality assurance of energy audits of buildings, as well as structuring a methodology of energy audits of buildings for Uzbekistan.

Specialists the Ministry of Energy and the State Agency for Architecture, Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Kyrgyz Republic learned international experience in legal framework and institutional arrangements regarding EPC of buildings, as well as Quality Control of EPC.

International and national SECCA experts presented international experience in promoting renewable energy development, with a focus on small hydropower, through state-owned specialised Funds.
