The built environment plays a critical role in everyday life and it is also recognised to be one of the main contributors to the global energy demand and the greenhouse gases emissions. Construction is a critical contributor to resource depletion and environmental degradation. Achieving sustainability in the building and construction industry is, therefore, crucial to contribute to the global transition to a sustainable carbon-neutral built environment. Commercial construction companies increasingly understand the value of sustainability and lead the way in promoting a more sustainable future by embracing energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, water conservation, sustainable material selection, and waste management.
This event provides a platform for stakeholders to discuss new developments and best practices in the EU and other Central Asian countries in promoting sustainability in the construction sector, as well as an opportunity to integrate lessons learned and experiences gained by the EU Member States into the further process of sustainable energy policy development in construction sector of Central Asia.
Target audience:
- policy makers – national and local levels
- architects, developers, construction companies
- designers, producers and distributors of energy efficient building materials and technologies
- installers of renewable energy technologies in buildings.
